I’m Pieter van der Meer, a passionate engineer, architect, speaker, and lifelong learner with a keen interest in data, stream processing, and machine learning. Over the past decade, I’ve shared insights at international conferences like Devoxx, J On the Beach, and Kafka Summit, covering topics ranging from high-speed algorithms and data-driven environmental solutions to secure systems and GDPR compliance.

I am dyslexic and try to advocate the benefits of this learning ability whenever I can, highlighting how it fosters creativity, problem-solving, and alternative approaches to complex challenges.

Outside of technology, I am an avid sailor, navigating both catamarans and ILCA dinghies, embracing the challenges of wind, water, and strategy. I also pursue sports photography at vdmeer.photos, Insta, capturing the energy, motion, and excitement of athletes in action. These passions allow me to combine technical precision with creativity and an appreciation for dynamic moments.
